WORKSHOP DETAILS
The last stop on this years tour and it couldn't end in a better way than with our friends from Global Grooves at The Vale.
This events has been moved from Liverpool to The Vale. So anyone who had already purchased a ticket for the event in Liverpool in March 2020 can still use their ticket. This event to sell out so make sure to get your tickets as soon as you can.
This workshop is for people who play in carnival bands, drumming groups, percussionists and other musicians. Carnival will have just finished a few weeks before the workshop so all the material will be fresh from the streets of Rio.
Learn new rhythms, musical arrangements, songs and percussion instrument techniques. All facilitated by world class tutors. Meet old friends and make new connections with people from other groups. Upskill the members of your band and learn someone new and unique.
Be prepared to learn some great arrangements. The classes will be fun and challenging. Taught by 3 expert tutors who have a combined teaching experience of over 60 years.
FREE STUFF
Each workshop participant will be given two free e-books worth £50. One of which will include the bossas taught at the workshop. The other contains the main samba grooves of the different premier league samba schools in Rio.
Both books are written in musical notation with QR codes linked to videos of the respective sambas schools performing the material. All written by Gabriel Lopes the writer of the book "As Bossas do Mestre Maurão" & "Mestre Dudu - As Paradinhas da Não Existe Mais Quente"
These will both be sent once the workshop has finished.
INSTRUMENTS
Caixa, repique, surdo, tamborim, agogô and chocalho. Please bring both your 1st and 2nd bateria instrument choice if possible.
